Since joining our team she’s churned out over 75 news, advice, trend and inspiration videos – go Alexandra!

We are serenaded every day with her invigorating music picks (she’s responsible for us connecting with and interviewing a rising country music superstar, young Mary Sarah), and the hoots and hollers when new listing members sign up always gives us a kick!

Liz Downey, Social R&D SpecialistsLiz Downey - We are so excited to welcome Liz, a fellow WomenCentric Listed Member, to the team – Click here to view her profile. Liz is our new Social R&D Specialist, kicking her marketing and social media talents into full gear, helping us spread the word to grow brand awareness and our membership base.

When she isn’t tweeting, she is traveling or planning her next big trip. Liz is happiest when she’s jet-setting and would love to explore more of the country.

Awesome Interns

A hearty welcome to the following talented and energetic interns…

Joanna Gardini – is helping us in a newly created Member Promotion Specialist post. Joanna recently graduated from Quinnipiac University, with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Minor in Public Relations. She enjoys traveling and scrapbooking as well as spending time with family and friends. We’re looking forward to her churning up exciting media coverage, new prospects and clients, on behalf of our fabulous experts, authors, activists and thought leaders.

Melissa Clauss is the undisputed Data Management Queen @ WomenCentric. She interned with us last year and enthusiastically dove into our piles of business cards and paperwork. We would be utterly lost without her organizational prowess – and can’t wait for her to rejoin us this summer.

Liz Hynes, our Video Editor Intern, is one of our fabulous new summer interns, is learning how we produce news and advice video segments. She is helping us with editing, so we can share more informative event news and lots of great advice and tips videos from hours of footage we have in the hopper – shot at  networking events, popular new media and Search Engine conferences, as well as interviews with everyday entrepreneurs. When not attached to her Mac (or filming), Liz’s favorite interests include writing, studying the piano and going to the movies.

A Little History

WomenCentric has gone from a small speaking group to a hybrid of a speakers bureau/PR/marketing agency for professional speakers to the totally automated global directory/personal advertising space for  women worldwide. Our new model serves the interests of diverse ages, skill sets and ambitions,  whether they’re soccer moms, research scientists, teachers, interior designers, artists, entrepreneurs, motivational speakers, members of the media or social media mavens.

Our beta launch in January 2011 took a bit longer than we had anticipated. And the additional tweaks and updates we’ve made throughout the year – along with valuable feedback from our Members and supporters – is helping us craft a better career and life advancement platform for professional women worldwide.

In August we began actively pursuing our first round of fundraising for $1.5 million, in order to dramatically advance our technology and services, expand our publishing and educational videos, and hire a top-notch team.

We look forward to working with new pros in marketing, technology, sales and new media, to help us serve our growing listing members, clients, browsers and advertisers.
