I’ve been exercising since I was a kid. I’m a certified personal trainer and know the right things to do — yet I still stumble every now and then. Go figure!

I’m back on track, though, and feeling great.

Here are my top five motivational fitness tips to help inspire you into action.

Listen to music whenever exercising. My cardio workouts are much more productive when I’m keeping up with a favorite, fast-paced tune. Yours will be, too.

Be accountable. I am accountable to the Weight Watchers scale. I love attending Weight Watcher meetings because you have to weigh in, and I actually do better knowing someone will be keeping track of my weight each week. As a former Weight Watchers leader myself, I’ve experienced both sides, so I know how accountability keeps you focused on your goal.

Have a vision board, and look at it on a daily basis. My true belief is that we can achieve whatever we focus on.

Have a support system, whether it’s a spouse, family member or friend. Having someone to talk to who celebrates your accomplishments and inspires you to be your best is a big help.

Have a role model or mentor. I have many great role models. I aspire to follow in their footsteps — while still being true to my unique personality, circumstances and goals. Leslie Sansone, Denise Austin and Kathy Smith have been great role models for my at-home workouts; Monica Grant was a big inspiration when I was body building. They inspire me because they walk the walk and talk the talk. They practice what they preach –healthy body, healthy mind — and all have a positive attitude.

If you try these simple tips, you will be on your way to a healthier, happier, more vibrant you!
